Keep These Tips in Mind When Starting Any New Exercise Routine

One day at work you decide to change your lifestyle and start exercising. Maybe you sign up for a gym membership or maybe you take it upon yourself to train. Either way, that very night after work you go to your training space and you exercise as hard as you can until you can’t stand up!

What’s the Rush?

If your current routine consists of going home and sitting in front of the TV for the rest of the night then walking around the block a few times after dinner or 30 minutes on the treadmill at the gym is a victory. What Are You Wearing?

Before you worry - this tip doesn’t require you to go out and buy the best brands of sports clothing. However, if you are going to undertake exercise then you need to wear the right gear. For example, if you are taking up jogging then your regular flats or even walking shoes aren’t going to cut it. Why? Because without the correct support you can cause problems for your feet and also injuries! Whichever activity you do, be sure you are wearing appropriate gear.

Stretch, Stretch, Stretch!

Stretching is important during every workout routine, however, it is even more important when it comes time to start exercising. The reason is that your limbs and muscles will have become quite comfortable in their tight or slouched state. This means that your muscles aren’t going to like the idea of simply going from nothing too hard-core workouts. Set aside time before and after whatever type of exercise you do to stretch your whole body thoroughly and prepare your muscles for what’s ahead. Stretching after a workout is also a great way to encourage oxygen flow to your muscles and reduce the pain and discomfort you can feel the next day.
